The Truth about Ho Chi Minh or "Uncle" Hồ: Vietnamese Communist Devil, Mass Murderer of Vietnamese people, Founder of VietCommunist Party. http:www.foreignpolicy.comarticles20120417the_terrible_tiger?page=0,0 "Political repression is not new in Vietnam. Since the fall of Saigon in 1975, the Communist Party has ruled with an iron fist. But years of Cold War isolation and the lack of an organized domestic opposition -- not to mention the West's feelings of guilt from the war and lingering ideological sympathy for Hanoi among parts of the left -- meant few cared to notice the country's poor human rights record. When the government opened up the economy in the 1990s, foreign investors and expatriates began pouring in, and since then international attention has focused largely on Vietnam's economic miracle. The country went from being one of the poorest in the world in the mid 1980s, with a per capita income below $100, to an Asian Tiger with rapid growth and a per capita income of $1,130 by the end of 2010. To the outside world, which heralded the government's economic reforms, the country looked to be firmly on the path of post-Cold War liberalization chosen by many countries in the former Soviet bloc. It hasn't hurt the government's image that the millions of foreigners visiting and living in Vietnam are largely untroubled by the restrictions on speech and assembly that are an everyday reality for Vietnamese. Despite this façade of liberalization, the Communist Party's current core leadership is as politically conservative as any since reunification. Headed by a handful of officials including Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung and President Truong Tan Sang, this inner circle has mercilessly cracked down on Bloc 8406, a homegrown pro-democracy movement styled on Czechoslovakia's Charter 77. Founded in 2006, the group attracted thousands of public supporters -- and likely many more in private -- before the government decapitated it by throwing dozens of organizers in jail. In addition, the authorities have targeted religious leaders, including Buddhist monks and Catholic priests, for advocating greater religious tolerance, and they have also in recent years harassed and imprisoned Vietnamese nationalists calling for the country to stand up to China. Still, in spite of the risks, Vietnamese activists continue to speak out about political pluralism, corruption, and free speech -- and end up in prison or as political refugees." http:www.foreignpolicy.comarticles20120417the_terrible_tiger?page=0,0

Ho chi Minh The Man The Myth 1

Full Versions: ------------------ http:www.blip.tvfile3778256 Ho chi Minh - The Man & The Myth http:www.blip.tvfile3778975 Sự thật về Hồ chí Minh http:www.blip.tvfile3778069 The Soviet Story --------------------- This video uncovers myths about Ho chi Minh's life: an international communist agent who dedicated his life to bring Vietnam under international communist control by engaging in deception, lies, assassination, oppression, mass murdering, and war to achieve his masters' order: to destroy Vietnam as a country through acts of war (inciting the mass to commit fratricide in the name of national unification in lieu of peaceful negotiations), and to decimate the population through genocidal projects such as the Land Reform program, the Tet Offensive massacre in Hue city in 1968, the re-education camps (turning the entire nation into a gigantic gulag), etc. 35 years after the fratricidal war ended, Vietnam is still mired in destitute and poverty, whereas the average vietnamese earns less than one U.S. dollar a day. Unemployment is profoundly constant due to an educational system that stresses communist dogma and leader worship (Ho chi Minh as the nation's venerable father). Despite government's claims of high yearly (economic) annual growth (6% - 9% throughout the 1990 - 2010 period), one can always find fully abled-body people lounging in bars, cafes, restaurants, etc at all hours of the day throughout the nation. This scene cannot be seen in countries with real economic growth. Vietnam is currently 1 of the most polluted nation on earth: an ideal place for waste&toxic-producing industries. Land and sea territories got ceded to imperial Han chinese. Children, men, and women got sold to human trafficking rings under the disguise of labor export racket. Corruption is anemic: illegal land confiscation, bribery and kickbacks a major fact of a government official daily life, money laundering (turning public land & properties into one's private property, selling them to highest bidders, and depositing the ill-earned monies in safe havens such as China, USA, Europe's banks).

HO CHI MINH THE MAN AND THE MYTH Part 1

Ho Chi Minh has been dead since 1969, and yet his legacy lives on through the continued rule of the communist party, a party in which itself is history in most parts of the world. We must assess his legacy as it impacts the past, present, and future of Vietnam and its citizens. Returning Ho to his rightful place in Vietnamese history simply does justice for the millions of Vietnamese who have fallen or suffered due to the many wars and massacres that he and his blind followers engineered since the start of the Democratic Republic of Vietnam (since renamed Socialist Republic of Vietnam). This film is only the beginning of an effort made by responsible, serious, and self-respecting media and academians to reveal the tragic role Ho Chi Minh plays in the history of modern Vietnam. "Give back to Caesar what belongs to Caesar."

Vietnamese Food in Cho Ben Thanh Market Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam

Bến Thành Market is THE large marketplace in Hồ Chí Minh City. Everything you could ever need under one roof. One giant roof. After some time wandering the shopping section, you'll give in to the amazing grilled smells coming out of the center food court. Food stall hawkers try to wrangle you into their 6'x6' section of the market. It's like Vietnamese street food without the street. We had Bánh Xèo, Vietnamese Pancake, which is an old favorite of ours. Shots of it are at the end. So very very good. I ate herbs and greens washed in the water from this market and didn't get sick. So trust that as far as you want to. As always - go to a busy place. If you are traveling to Saigon, then you'll probably end up here. Watch for the pickpockets - we were fine but locals made it a point to warn us more than once. The market is located near the Công viên 23 Tháng 9 park, which is like a mini Central Park sort of. Check that very same park at sundownnight to really get to hang out with the Vietnamese. http:www.ben-thanh-market.com

General Merrill McPeak In Search of the Ho Chi Minh Trail

In January 2012, more than forty years after his last combat sortie, General Merrill McPeak traveled to Southern Laos with his two sons in search of what's left of the Ho Chi Minh Trail. In 1969, with the famous MISTY squadron, McPeak flew 269 combat missions trying to stop enemy traffic down the trail.Years after his service in Vietnam, General McPeak would become the 14th chief of staff of the United States Air Force. Prior to the war, he spent two years with the Air Force's elite aerobatic team, the Thunderbirds, performing before millions of people in nearly 200 official air shows in the U.S. and overseas. This early stage of his military career, from his service in fighter squadrons through the year in Vietnam, is described in his memoir, "Hangar Flying." The book "provides all a reader could require in the way of aerial maneuvers, sorties and military strategy" (the Oregonian); "by turn poetic, amusing, insightful, poignant and often self-deprecating, [Hangar Flying] is a potent mix blending domestic detail with life-on-the-line escapades, be they risky acrobatic displays as part of the Thunderbirds team or sorties in Vietnam" (East Anglian Daily Times). Hồ Chí Minh (ˈhoʊ ˈtʃiː ˈmɪn;[4] Northern Vietnamese pronunciation: [ho̞˧˩ t͡ɕi˧˥ mɪŋ˧] ( listen), Southern Vietnamese pronunciation: [ho̞˧˩ t͡ɕɪj˧ mɪ̈n˧] ( listen); 19 May 1890 – 2 September 1969), born Nguyễn Sinh Côn,[5][6][7] or Nguyễn Sinh Cung, also known as Nguyễn Tất Thành and Nguyễn Ái Quốc, was a Vietnamese Communist revolutionary leader who was prime minister (1945–55) and president (1945–69) of the Democratic Republic of Vietnam (North Vietnam). He was a key figure in the foundation of the Democratic Republic of Vietnam in 1945, as well as the People's Army of Vietnam (PAVN) and the Việt Cộng (NLF or VC) during the Vietnam War.He led the Việt Minh independence movement from 1941 onward, establishing the Communist-ruled Democratic Republic of Vietnam in 1945 and defeating the French Union in 1954 at the battle of Điện Biên Phủ. He officially stepped down from power in 1965 due to health problems, but remained a highly visible figurehead and inspiration for those Vietnamese fighting for his cause—a united, communist Vietnam—until his death. After the war, Saigon, the former capital of the Republic of Vietnam, was renamed Hồ Chí Minh City; however, the name Saigon is still very widely used.In 1911, while working as the cook's helper on a ship, Nguyễn traveled to the United States. From 1912–13, he lived in New York City (Harlem) and Boston, where he worked as a baker at the Parker House Hotel. Among a series of menial jobs, he claimed to have worked for a wealthy family in Brooklyn between 1917–18, and for General Motors as a line manager. It is believed that, while in the United States, he made contact with Korean nationalists, an experience that developed his political outlook. At various points between 1913 and 1919, Nguyễn lived in West Ealing, and later in Crouch End, Hornsey. He reportedly worked as either a chef or dish washer [reports vary] at the Drayton Court Hotel in West Ealing.[11] It is claimed that Nguyễn trained as a pastry chef under Auguste Escoffier at the Carlton Hotel in the Haymarket, Westminster, but there is no evidence to support this.[10][12] However, the wall of New Zealand House, home of the New Zealand High Commission, which now stands on the site of the Carlton Hotel, displays a blue plaque, stating that Nguyễn worked there in 1913 as a waiter. Nguyễn was also employed as a pastry boy on the Newhaven–Dieppe ferry route in 1913.From 1919–23, while living in France, Nguyễn began to show an interest in politics, being influenced by his friend and Socialist Party of France comrade Marcel Cachin. Nguyễn claimed to have arrived in Paris from London in 1917, but the French police only had documents recording his arrival in June 1919.[10] He joined a group of Vietnamese nationalists in Paris whose leaders were Phan Chu Trinh and Phan Văn Trường, bearing a new name Nguyễn Ái Quốc ("Nguyễn the Patriot"). Following World War I, the group petitioned for recognition of the civil rights of the Vietnamese people in French Indochina to the Western powers at the Versailles peace talks, but was ignored.[15] Citing the language and the spirit of the U.S. Declaration of Independence, they expected U.S. President Woodrow Wilson to help remove the French colonial rule from Vietnam and ensure the formation of a new, nationalist government. Although they were unable to obtain consideration at Versailles, the failure further radicalized Nguyễn, while also making him a symbol of the anti-colonial movement at home in Vietnam.[16]In 1920, Nguyễn became a representative to the Congress of Tours of the Socialist Party of France, Quốc voted for the Third International and a founding member of the Parti Communiste Français (FCP). Taking a position in the Colonial Committee of the PCF, he tried to draw his comrades' attention towards people in French colonies including Indochina, but his efforts were often unsuccessful. During this period he began to write journal articles and short stories as well as running his Vietnamese nationalist group. In May 1922, Nguyễn wrote an article for a French magazine criticizing the use of English words by French sportswriters.[17] The article implored Prime Minister Raymond Poincaré to outlaw such Franglais as le manager, le round and le knock-out. While living in Paris, he reportedly had a relationship with a dressmaker named Marie Brière.In 1923, Nguyễn (Ho) left Paris for Moscow, where he was employed by the Comintern, studied at the Communist University of the Toilers of the East,[18][19] and participated in the Fifth Comintern Congress in June 1924, before arriving in Canton (present-day Guangzhou), China, in November 1924.http:en.wikipedia.orgwikiHo_Chi_Minh
